Gera feels he is fit again

West Brom midfielder Zoltan Gera is confident that he is over his injury troubles.

West Brom midfielder Zoltan Gera is confident that he is over his injury troubles.

The Hungary international has endured a frustrating campaign, having made only one appearance since the start of October.

He underwent a hernia operation in the autumn and returned to action as a substitute in the Boxing Day defeat at Manchester United.

But Gera missed the rest of the festive fixture programme after injuring his thigh, although he is now back in full training.

Gera felt a slight twinge on Thursday, but he believes he has recovered from that niggle and is now ready to resume playing, starting with the FA Cup third round tussle with Reading.

"I played together with the team on Thursday and Friday," Gera told his personal website.

"I had some discomfort in my thigh on Thursday evening, but it was much better than previously and in training on Friday everything was alright.

"I feel confident because the site of the surgery is not sensitive at all and the horrible symptoms I had before have all disappeared.

"Now that my thigh is okay I have got my place in the squad again."
