West Brom remain confident that playmaker Zoltan Gera is close to fitness.West Brom remain confident that playmaker Zoltan Gera will be pronounced fit to play over the busy Christmas period.
The talented midfield schemer has recently had a hernia operation and will step-up his rehabilitation with a reserve team game on Tuesday evening.
Gera turned out for the club's second string last week, playing 45 minutes, with Baggies assistant boss Nigel Pearson hoping Hungary's captain will soon be available for Robson's first team.
"Zoltan Gera will play in Tuesday's reserve game and we would hope he may play some part during the Christmas period,'' said Pearson.
''Although we don't want to rush him back.''
Also returning from an injury lay-off is utility man Steve Watson, who has been struggling of late with a hamstring injury.
"We also expect Steve Watson to have recovered for the trip to Manchester United on Boxing Day,'' concluded Pearson.
