Robson: Kuszczak staying

West Brom boss Bryan Robson says keeper Tomasz Kuszczak is 'going nowhere'.

West Bromwich Albion manager Bryan Robson insists goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak is 'going nowhere'.

The Polish custodian reportedly informed his country's press of his dissatisfaction with a lack of first team opportunities at the Black Country club, having only appeared in the Carling Cup for The Baggies this term.

The former Hertha Berlin custodian has since denied making those comments after meeting with Robson and the former Middlesbrough and Bradford City boss insists the 23-year-old is still part of his plans.

"I've spoken to Tomasz about what he is supposed to have said in public and he claims he has not said it," Robson said.

"I believe him because he said he had a problem like this before when he was at Hertha Berlin.

"The fact of the matter is he's contracted to this club until 2007. We've also got a year's option on him, so he is going nowhere.

"That is the end of the matter as far as I am concerned. He needs now to get on with his job."

With Chris Kirkland currently out with a bruised kidney, Kuszczak looks set to earn his first Premiership start this season when Newcastle United visit The Hawthorns on Sunday.

Fellow Baggies keeper Russell Hoult may also be in contention following his recall from his loan spell at League One side Nottingham Forest this past week.

One player that is out of the reckoning for West Brom on Sunday is striker Diomansy Kamara after his wife gave birth during the early hours of Saturday.
