West Brom's young midfielder Richard Chaplow has insisted that he is ready to prove himself in The Premiership.

Chaplow has rarely featured for The Baggies since completing a £1.5 million move from Championship side Burnley in the winter transfer window.

However, the England Under-21 player started the game against Tottenham - and is keen to show that he is good enough to make the grade.

"There's two ways to look at my situation," said Chaplow. "Either I'm fresh because I haven't been playing or I'm not match fit.

"You can see it whichever way you like but I believes that I can play in The Premiership so I wasn't too worried about playing against Spurs.

"It can be quite nerve-wracking but I believe in my ability.

"I've been waiting on the sidelines for a couple of months and tried to study the differences between The Premiership and the lower divisions so I know what to expect."
