Bryan Robson has told Nottingham Forest they will not be signing West Brom defender Darren Moore.

The centre half has been linked with a switch to The City Ground since former Baggies boss Gary Megson took over the struggling Championship club.

Moore has been put forward as the man who could plug the Forest defence as Megson strives to keep his new team in The Championship.

But Robson has scotched any chance of the duo working together again by insisting he needs Moore for his own relegation battle at The Hawthorns.

"At present, there will be no more players leaving the club between now and the end of the season," said the West Brom manager.

"With Andy Johnson out for the season, I'm down to 20 players. And if I get bookings or injuries, I'll need people."

Meanwhile, one of Robson's January recruits - Richard Chaplow - is eager to make his debut in Sunday's derby against Birmingham.

Chaplow has yet to feature since his arrival from Burnley and he is hoping to get the chance to play against former Clarets team-mate Robbie Blake.

"I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be involved on Sunday," said the midfielder.

"I'm itching to play for Albion and a game like that would be a nice one to come into.

"It would be good if I played against Robbie who was one of my best friends at Burnley."
