Burnley are waiting for West Brom to come in with a firm offer for Richard Chaplow.Burnley are waiting for West Bromwich Albion to come in with a firm offer for teenage midfielder Richard Chaplow.
The promising youngster has emerged as a target for The Premiership's bottom club, who are striving to strengthen their squad during the transfer window.
Baggies boss Bryan Robson has contacted his Burnley counterpart Steve Cotterill regarding Chaplow's situation at Turf Moor.
Cotterill admits he is now biding his time to discover whether Robson will return with an offer for the 19-year-old.
"I have spoken to Bryan a few times," admitted Cotterill.
"But the ball is in West Brom's court now."
Meanwhile, Burnley have extended Jean-Louis Valois' (pictured) stay at Turf Moor until the end of the season.
Valois' deal initially expired prior to the weekend but he agreed terms to stay with the Championship club before making his comeback from injury against Reading on Saturday.
The French winger joined Burnley in September from Clyde and the former Hearts ace has been a key performer for the club.
But Valois' compatriot Amadou Sanokho has left Turf Moor after Cotterill was unable to persuade the midfielder to extend his stay.
Sanokho had made just three substitute appearances in The Championship for The Clarets but Cotterill still lamented the player's departure.
"It's always a blow to lose a player," he said. "And we didn't manage to re-sign Amadou Sanokho this week.
"We couldn't agree terms with him."
