West Brom have completed the signing of Robert Earnshaw from Cardiff in a club record £3 million deal.

The Welsh international has inked a three-year deal at The Hawthorns, with the option of another year, after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

West Brom boss Gary Megson has been chasing a new striker all summer to partner Kanu.

After missing out on top targets Aruna Dindane and Sylvain Wiltord, Megson switched his attentions to Earnshaw.

The 23-year-old has established himself as one of the best strikers outside the top-flight with his exploits at Cardiff.

Charlton and Celtic had been linked with Earnshaw earlier in the summer, but West Brom have burst the bank to bring him to The Hawthorns.

Cardiff could receive more money for Earnshaw with his price tag rising to £3.625 million depending on West Brom's success in The Premiership.
