West Brom striker Lee Hughes has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The Albion star is speaking to the West Midlands Police, along with a solicitor, at a local station, and he is also being asked why he failed to stop following a serious accident.
It is not clear whether Hughes gave himself up for questioning or if he was tracked down and arrested.
The accident took place in Coventry city centre on Saturday night, and five people were reportedly in the Mercedes that clashed with the Renault Megane that contained a man in his sixties, who was killed.
A female passenger broke her leg in the collision, and the male driver of the Megane suffered a broken pelvis, but Hughes was not thought to be seriously injured.
