Bradford winger Kyel Reid will be sidelined for up to eight months after scans revealed he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament.

The 26-year-old was stretchered off in the first half of City's 2-2 draw at Sheffield United on Saturday after a challenge from Blades defender Tony McMahon. Reid, who will join Andrew Davies and James Meredith on the sidelines, will undergo surgery in the next few weeks once the swelling has subsided Phil Parkinson told the club's website: "We are obviously devastated for Kyel. "We unfortunately felt at the time that Kyel had done something serious and we were fearing the worst over the weekend. "It is a blow to us all to lose the services of someone like Reidy but we will give him all the support and care he needs to get back playing as soon as possible." Reid added on Twitter: "Absolutely gutted words can't describe how I feel about the injury let alone period of time...Thank u to all players staff & fans."
