Preston complete Kilkenny move

Australian midfielder Neil Kilkenny has completed his transfer to Preston after having his contract at Bristol City cancelled.

Kilkenny had been on loan with North End since November after boss Simon Grayson decided to save the 28-year-old, who he managed at Leeds, from the wilderness at Ashton Gate. That deal was due to expire this week but the player and Bristol City agreed to terminate his contract with the Robins in order for him to sign a deal at Deepdale until the end of the season. "I have enjoyed my time here so far, everyone has been so welcoming," Kilkenny said. "I already knew the manager and his assistant from my time at Leeds and hopefully the results and performances we have had so far can carry on. "This is a brand new start for me and it is a great club so I am looking forward to it. We want to kick on, keep winning and hopefully we'll be right up there at the end of the season."
