Preston goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Stuckmann, the 2011/12 player of the year for North End, was set to become a free agent at the end of the month but he has now put pen to paper on a contract to keep him at Deepdale until the summer of 2015. The German told the club's official website: "It feels really good. I'm more than happy and I am looking forward to the season." Manager Simon Grayson added: "I think we are going to have some great competition between Stucky and Declan (Rudd). "It gives me great options in the goalkeeping area and I am sure, along with Steven James, under the tutelage of Alan Kelly, it will be a hard-working unit."
