Graham Westley compared the atmosphere generated during Preston's 3-0 FA Cup first-round win over Yeovil to that of a friendly.

Two goals in three first-half minutes from Joel Byrom and David Amoo left the Glovers with a considerable mountain to climb at Deepdale, with the situation getting worse after the break.

Yeovil saw Ed Upson given a straight red for a late challenge on Byrom in the 63rd minute and they then conceded a third when Preston defender Chris Robertson powered home a header.

However, Preston boss Westley had some choice words for the performance of his team and the game as a whole at Deepdale, which was played in front of just 4,757 spectators.

"It was a horrible, ugly performance," said Westley. "I don't think either in or out of possession we were pleased with ourselves - we gave far too many chances away."

He added: "It's not an excuse, as you've got to deal with the situation, but there's just over 4,000 people in there and it felt more like a pre-season game than an FA Cup match."
