Beavon: Preston goals will come

Preston striker Stuart Beavon says the Lancashire club's recent profligacy in front of goal is nothing more than bad luck.

North End crashed out of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday losing 3-1 at home to Middlesbrough, just three days after being bested by Walsall by the same scoreline. But Beavon, who moved to Deepdale from Wycombe on deadline day, believes that as long as North End keep creating chances they have nothing to worry about. "We did not have much luck in front of goal (against Middlesbrough) but as long as we are making the chances then it is not as much of a problem as if we were not creating any chances," he told the club's official website. "When you are not making the chances, that is when you have a problem and when you are in trouble. "At least being knocked out of the cup allows us to focus more on the league, but it is hard to take that as a positive as progressing in the cup would have been nice. "We play Yeovil on Saturday. We have got to take the positives out of the performance and look forward to Saturday and hopefully win the three points."
