McLaughlin & Ball lined up by League Two new boys

Sky Sports understands Fleetwood Town are lining up a double swoop for Preston defender Conor McLaughlin and Peterborough striker David Ball. Fleetwood boss Micky Mellon revealed earlier this week he was hoping to bring in two new faces and it is understood McLaughlin and Ball are the two targets in question. Northern Ireland international McLaughlin is currently on the transfer list at Preston with Graham Westley happy to let him move on. Peterborough forward Ball has been a long-term target for Mellon and a deal is thought to be close to being agreed for the former Manchester City youngster. Fleetwood are hopeful of tying up deals for McLaughlin and Ball soon so they can add them to the signings of Jon Parkin, Steven Gillespie and Barry Nicholson.
