Westley hails Wright leveller

Preston boss Graham Westley was full of praise for teenager Bailey Wright after his late leveller in the 1-1 draw at home to MK Dons.

Darren Potter opened the scoring in the 26th minute for the Dons after Alan Smith's dummy, but Wright's last-minute header ensured a point for Westley's men in Saturday's League One clash. The contest was set to the backdrop of Sir Tom Finney's 90th birthday celebrations, with video tributes played out on the Deepdale big screens, including messages from David Beckham and Sir Alex Ferguson. "Bailey [Wright], the goal aside, was absolutely first class - he showed a maturity beyond his years," Westley said. "It was a fantastic day to be in the stadium. On the one hand to see the roll call in terms of the tributes for Sir Tom [Finney] and then to see the lads take that on and play football that I'm sure he would have enjoyed. "I thought the players were excellent on the whole and what was a real credit to them was that they showed the conviction, the belief, and the desire to get an equaliser."
