Tuesday night's action in League One will see the top six sides battle each other, while Scunthorpe host Rochdale in a drop zone clash.

League leaders Charlton will look to extend their five-game unbeaten run and seven-point advantage at the head of the table as they host MK Dons, who have who have managed just one win in their last five attempts.

Stevenage have lost just one game in their last 15 outings and will look to continue that record at Hillsborough as they take on second-placed Sheffield Wednesday, who lost 2-1 to struggling Exeter on Saturday.

Fellow promotion contenders and city rivals Sheffield United travel to the Galpharm Stadium for a third versus fourth clash with high-flying Huddersfield Town having won nine of their last 11 matches in League One, while the hosts are unbeaten since early December.

Carlisle go into their clash with 17th-place Tranmere level on points with Stevenage, giving them the opportunity to sneak into the play-off places should results fall in their favour.

Bournemouth also head into Tuesday night's clash with a chance of a top-six spot as they sit just a point behind Carlisle with mid-table Leyton Orient the visitors to Dean Court.

On the brink

Meanwhile, at the foot of the table, Rochdale make the trip east to face Scunthorpe in a relegation scrap with both holding hopes of escaping the drop zone with three points.

Wycombe and Yeovil sit on the brink of the bottom four with the clash at Adams Park able to send one into the bottom four as both teams go into the encounter with three wins in their last 10 outings.

Preston North End could overtake Hartlepool should they pick up three points at Deepdale, with the visitors only two points ahead in 10th.

Bury are looking to find consistency after losing two of their last five League One clashes as they host rock-bottom Chesterfield, who have won only two games away from home all campaign.

Brentford travel to Colchester with eyes on reducing the gap between themselves and the play-off places having registered their first win in eight last time out when they beat Wycombe 5-2.

Struggling Walsall will make the trip to Oldham with escape from the drop zone in mind as they look to capitalise on the home side's recent form with only two wins in 12 for the 16th-placed side.

Finally, Exeter's visit to Notts County presents them with the opportunity to extend their five-point advantage over the relegation zone with the home side's last win at Meadow Lane coming in November.
