Stevenage's Michael Bostwick and Joel Byrom have been praised by Graham Westley after their performances at Colchester on Boxing Day.

Both players capped good all-round displays with goals in the 6-1 thrashing of the Us. Westley thought it was a professional performance from all of his players, but singled out Bostwick and Byrom for special treatment. "I was pleased with both the central midfielders, Byrom and Bostwick. I thought they were outstanding and probably our top performers on the day," Westley told the club's official website. "When you see a player get that goal which gives them that extra little bit of credit it's fantastic when they've been so courageous, so hard working and shown so much quality in the way they've gone about their work." The Boro boss added: "The players performed very well. They showed that they've been extremely professional over the [Christmas] break, got themselves right, invested their time in the right way in the 72 hours beforehand and it was a tremendous display."
