MK Dons and Sheffield United both have contenders for the respective League One Manager and Player of the Month awards for August. Boss Karl Robinson has guided the Dons to the top of the table following an unbeaten start to the season, while Luke Chadwick has been in inspired form and has scored two goals. Sheffield United pair Danny Wilson and Steven Quinn are also in contention, as the Blades sit second behind MK Dons following an identical unbeaten league campaign to date. Charlton sit third and have also avoided defeat in League One, which has earned manager Chris Powell a nomination.

Disappointing fashion

Tranmere boss Lee Parry is among the managerial contenders after guiding the Prenton Park club to just one league defeat, at Notts County in mid-August. Ryan Lowe's Sheffield Wednesday career may have started in disappointing fashion after he hobbled off just 31 minutes into his debut as a substitute against Charlton. But the former Bury man, who moved to Hillsborough at the end of August, has been recognised with a nomination after hitting four league goals to sit joint-top of the charts. Thirty-nine-year-old Preston midfielder Graham Alexander completes the player contenders after impressing for Phil Brown's men. The winners will be announced on Friday live on Sky Sports News from 10am.
