Preston defender Clarke Carlisle has tipped rising star Danny Devine to enjoy a bright future in the game.
Carlisle scored the winner in Tuesday's 1-0 victory at Chesterfield and continued his blossoming partnership with Devine at the heart of North End's defence.
It was the third consecutive game the pair have played alongside each other, and Carlisle said: "The young lad became a man and he showed exactly what it takes to progress from youth team football all the way up to the first team.
"When you consider that he has played a handful of games at senior level, I was asked on Saturday whether or not I talked Danny through games, well Danny talks me through games.
"He is not shy, his positional play for a young defender is phenomenal and it makes me believe he is going to have a long healthy career in the game."
