Grayson delighted to bring in keeper from Preston

Leeds have signed Preston goalkeeper Andy Lonergan for an undisclosed fee. Skysports.com revealed that a deal was imminent earlier on Monday and it has now been confirmed that Lonergan has signed a three-year deal at Elland Road. Lonergan, who made over 200 appearances for North End in an 11-year spell, acts as a replacement for the departed Kasper Schmeichel. "This is something that has been ongoing for a while and some deals take longer to be concluded than others," boss Simon Grayson told the club's official website. "Contrary to the speculation we weren't chasing a lot of goalkeepers, Andy was always my number one choice, and I'm delighted we could bring him here. "He's played many games in the Championship and has been linked with many moves to the Premier League which speaks volumes about him. "He can't wait to get started and we're looking forward to working with him."
