Elding turns down Pilgrims

Rochdale striker Anthony Elding will not be heading to Plymouth after turning down a move to Home Park.

Elding played in a friendly for Plymouth against Bristol City and spent the early part of the week in discussions with manager Peter Reid. However, despite agreeing a deal and passing a medical on Thursday, the striker had a change of heart. Rochdale chief executive Colin Garlick said: "Anthony said it just wasn't the right move at this time and we have to respect that decision. "There was a very good offer on the table for Anthony and it was one that suited both clubs. "However, it didn't go through but that's football and we move on."
