Tranmere boss Les Parry has hailed captain John Welsh's work-rate and says his value to the team cannot be overstated.
The 26-year-old Liverpool-born midfielder was instrumental in Rovers' 1-1 draw against Charlton on Saturday and received glowing praise from his manager.
"Everyone knows I'm Welshy's biggest fan and when he is not playing, we are missing something," Parry told the Liverpool Daily Post.
"It went to show on Saturday what he does for us when he's in the team.
"I appreciate he's not the fans' favourite because he is not a flash player but the amount of work he puts in is tremendous."
