Preston midfielder Paul McKenna could be ruled out of action until October.Preston midfielder Paul McKenna could be ruled out of action until October after learning that he may have to undergo further surgery on his groin problem.
The 29-year-old has been sidelined since February with a hernia injury but is still struggling to be fit and is now set to have another operation.
Physio Steve Kemp told the club's website: "The timescale is three months from the day of surgery so unfortunately we're looking to around October time for Paul's comeback.
"First of all he'll have to rest after the surgery. It has to heal and then we'll progress to strengthening his groin and hopefully after six weeks he'll be at the stage of running and be back in the squad and playing by October."
