David Healy admits he is thankful his protracted move from Preston to Leeds United is now finally completed.

The Northern Ireland international linked up with The Whites on Friday, after Preston accepted an undisclosed offer from their Championship rivals.

Leeds had previously had several bids rejected by Preston, with Healy in a state of limbo as he would have been out of contract at Deepdale at the end of the season.

But Healy has now signed a four-year contract at Elland Road and is looking forward to concentrating solely on matters on the pitch.

"I'm delighted things have finally been sorted out," said Healy.

"I enjoyed my time at Preston but needed a new challenge and that's what I've got.

"My job's to score goals and I've proved I can do that.

"My aim's to keep that up and help Leeds back to The Premiership where they belong."
