Ipswich Town romped past Preston 3-0 to enhance their promotion credentials at Portman Road.
Shefki Kuqi, Tommy Miller and Darren Bent were the goalscorers for Joe Royle's promotion chasers to extend Preston's run to 40 years without a victory in Suffolk.
Gavin Ward kept North End at bay before two goals in quick succession just ahead of half time ended the keeper's brave resistance.
Kuqi latched onto Jim Magilton's pass to open the scoring, after good work from Drissa Diallo, and Miller immediately doubled the advantage by finishing off a Bent cross.
Ward had made impressive stops from the likes of Bent and Jason de Vos but he was fortunate to see a Kuqi effort thud off the bar.
Preston created few openings, although Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu did warm Lewis Price's hands, and Dickson Etuhu finished disappointingly from a half-chance.
Bent ended any feint hopes of a comeback by smashing home the third goal with 18 minutes remaining.
