Stoke City's unbeaten sequence came to an end following a 3-0 defeat to Preston North End.

The Potters entered the game in second place in The Championship but were sent crashing in the second half.

The deadlock was broken on 27 minutes when Richard Cresswell nodded past Ed de Goey from close range.

Stoke tried to get back into the match, however their spirit was finally broken late on.

Cresswell's second late on, all but assured the points were going to The Lilywhites.

With City reeling David Healy added a third seconds later to seal the points.

Unlike in midweek when the Northern Ireland international was dismissed for his goalscoring celebrating the striker kept his joy under wraps.
