LEYTON ORIENT have taken Steven Thomson and Alan McCormack on trial.

The midfield pair both played and scored in the club's reserve team game on Wednesday as they look to impress O's manager Paul Brush (pictured).

Thomson was released by Crystal Palace in the summer after the Scot had been with The Eagles for nine years.

Preston player McCormack was allowed to go on trial as the midfielder is currently not in the first-team picture at Deepdale.

"The pair of trialists who scored ran the game in the centre of midfield," the Orient boss told the club's website.
