Wolves get back on track

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS got their promotion campaign back on track with a 4-0 win over Preston at Molineux on Tuesday night, while Coventry City secured a late 1-1 draw at Bradford.

Dave Jones's men made a nervous start at home to Preston but the crowd's nerves were settled after 22 minutes when Nathan Blake latched onto a long ball and held off the attentions of Chris Lucketti before slotting past Tepi Moilanen in the North End net.

Dean Sturridge doubled the lead on the stroke of half time when he pulled off an excellent turn inside the box before producing a classy finish from a tight angle.

Craig Brown's side threw everything at Wolves trying to get back into the game in the second half but left themselves exposed at the back for the hosts to add two late goals.

Blake grabbed his second five minutes before time before Kenny Miller again found acres of space to make it 4-0 to Wolves.

Bradford profited from another goalkeeping howler against Coventry to take the lead at Valley Parade.

Paul Evans's shot from 30 yards out was a weak one that slide straight at French keeper Fabien Debec only for him to allow the ball to squirm through his legs in similar style to that of Massimo Taibi's famous clanger against Southampton at Old Trafford.

The Bantams looked to be heading for their second home win of the season only for Jay Bothroyd to head in an equalizer with seven minutes left to play.
