Derby teenager Offrande Zanzala has signed a professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old striker, who is in his second year at the Rams' academy, has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Zanzala is the second player from the Under-18 team to sign professional terms this year, following in the footsteps of midfielder Callum Guy who agreed a 18-month deal last month.

He has scored 11 goals so far this season in all competitions.

Academy manager Darren Wassall told the club's official website: "Offrande has, deservedly, signed his first professional contract.

"The academy is a long-term progression plan. Offrande joined us in 2009 so it has been a long journey for him to get to this level. He has been outstanding for the Under-18s this year and that's why he is being deservedly selected to play for the Under 21 squad as well.

"At this club we want every player who is good enough to get the opportunity to move to the next level."
