Manager Nigel Clough was pleased with Kieron Freeman's debut for Derby, saying: "He has a calm head on him at 20."
Freeman, who joined the club in August from east midlands rivals Nottingham Forest, made his first appearance for the Rams as an 82nd-minute substitute during the 4-1 victory over Blackpool at Pride Park on Saturday.
The 20-year-old, a right-back, replaced Jeff Hendrick and played on the right-hand side of midfield.
Following the cameo, Clough said: "Kieron deserved his chance to get on and he showed a little bit as well. He has a calm head on him at 20."
