Bailey has established himself as an integral member of Nigel Clough's side since arriving from Crewe in the summer of 2010.
The 23-year-old's recent return from injury has coincided with club's improved form in the last few weeks
Bailey is in the final 18 months of his contract and as yet fresh terms have yet to be offered.
The news has alerted a number of clubs to Bailey's possible availability with the all-action midfielder having admirers in the Premier League and the Championship.
