Burnley boss blasts players for below-par performance at Bristol City

Lee Grant admits the Burnley squad were given the 'hairdryer' treatment by manager Eddie Howe on Saturday. The Clarets entered the half-time interval of their meeting with Bristol City one goal down. They were far from their best at Ashton Gate and went on to lose the game 3-1. Howe was understandably disappointed with the efforts of his side and let them know his thoughts in the dressing room. Grant concedes that he had every right to vent his anger, with it the players' fault that they now have a two-week wait before getting the opportunity to make amends against Leeds on 19th November.

Deserved

"We got the hairdryer treatment at half-time," the Clarets keeper told the club's official website. "We deserved that and we came out brightly but we didn't manage to keep that going and we probably played a little bit loose. "But it is a team game and we are all in it together. We will certainly work hard over the next two weeks on the training ground. "It will be a long two weeks. It might have been nice to have had a Tuesday game to put things right, but on the flipside of that we can work hard now to put things right."
