Waddock delighted with Ibe

Manager Gary Waddock praised schoolboy Jordan Ibe, saying his debut was a big positive despite Wycombe's 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Ibe, 15, scored the Chairboys' equaliser just before the half-hour mark in Saturday's League One clash at Adams Park with a fine strike from the edge of the area. "Jordan is an unbelievable player. For a young lad of 15 to score on his debut like that is wonderful," said Waddock, who had captain Gareth Ainsworth sent off for a second bookable offence late on. "He's got the potential to play at the top level and he's got to fulfil that now. He deserves to be in the team, he didn't show any nerves and the goal was a great moment for him." Waddock added: "We have to be realistic. The teams we're up against are big clubs. We have to continue doing what we've done and keep on going. At some stage it will surely turn for us. We're committed and that's what we have to be. "I said to the players that the top sides punish you. We didn't pick Lowe up for the winner and that's the difference. They're the fine margins in this game and we found that out again."
