Derby County are closing in on a deal for Burton Albion goalkeeper Adam Legzdins after having an undisclosed offer accepted.
Legzdins was an ever present in League Two for Burton last season after joining the club on a two-year contract from Crewe Alexandra.
Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido has been trying to persuade last term's Player of the Year to sign a new contract, but has now decided to allow Legzdins to move on.
The fee has not been disclosed, but Burton have confirmed that it has the potential to be a club record sale to eclipse the sum Crewe paid to sign John Brayford in 2008.
Brayford is also now at Derby and the impending move to Pride Park for Legzdins, which is due to be completed on Friday, will see him link up with another ex-Crewe team-mate in James Bailey.
Rams manager Nigel Clough has been busy improving his squad this summer and has already signed England Under 21 keeper Frank Fielding from Blackburn Rovers.
