Crewe Alexandra defender John Brayford insists he 'knows nothing' about a potential move away from Gresty Road.
Brayford joined the Railwaymen on a three-year contract from Burton Albion last September and was named the club's Player of the Year.
The full-back has been linked with a move to Derby County - now managed by former Burton boss Nigel Clough - following Crewe's relegation to League Two.
Other Championship clubs have also made enquiries, but the 21-year-old is merely focusing on his return for pre-season training.
"Dealing with speculation is part and parcel of football and you just have to deal with it," Brayford told the club's official website.
"I don't know anything and I would be one of the first to know if there was anything in the pipeline. If I don't know then I am not sure why others know.
"I have heard nothing and I am focused on my job at Crewe. They were the ones that took a chance on me when I was a non-league player and I want to thank them for them.
"If, and it is an if, a phone call was made to the club then of course it will be discussed. I would sit down with the manager and go through things - but that situation has not occurred and I am focusing on getting myself fit ready for a tough pre-season."
