Derby manager Paul Jewell has leapt to the defence of goalkeeper Roy Carroll.
The Northern Ireland international had a torrid time during Saturday's 6-0 home defeat to Aston Villa.
But Jewell insists that Carroll has barely put a foot wrong since he arrived from Rangers.
"Hey listen, the goalkeeper has had a bad day, everyone has a bad day," said Jewell.
"I think the first Villa goal might have been a foul on Roy and the second one might have been offside but everyone has bad days and everyone makes mistakes.
"Roy has been terrific since he has been here.
"He's not had a good game, there is no getting away from that. Every little thing that could go against us, went against us. Petrov sticks one in the top corner from 40-odd yards, everything that could go wrong went wrong.
"Goalkeepers can have bad days, Scott Carson had a bad day at Wembley for England, that's life."
