Derby boss Paul Jewell has confirmed Rangers have expressed an interest in swapping Lewis Price for Roy Carroll.
Jewell is keen to take Carroll to Pride Park, but The Gers have been reluctant to let the Northern Ireland international depart until they have brought in cover.
Now Jewell has confirmed that Derby could smooth over the deal by allowing Price to join Rangers.
"We have been trying to do a deal with Rangers for a about a month, Lewis has been doing well but I feel we need that little bit of experience at this time," Jewell told Sky Sports News.
"And there might be a bit of interest from Rangers taking Lewis on loan and they let us have Roy, but again it has been hard to contact them."
