Matt Oakley believes Derby County must beat Bolton Wanderers or their season 'will be over'. The Rams are currently 10 points from safety and face Bolton at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday night, live on Sky Sports 1. And Derby captain Oakley feels it is vital that three points are collected to keep alive the club's hopes of Premier League survival. "If we don't beat Bolton then the season's over for me," said Oakley in the Daily Mirror.

Frustrating

"It is tough. I try and talk to players, but it is something they have to take on board. "We have a lot of young lads in the team and I just hope they don't look back at it, see it wasted and end up playing in the Championship or lower down. "This is a hard league to get into. We worked so hard last year to get here and it's like we're going out without a real fight - it's disappointing. "We're so far behind we always feel like we're playing catch-up. When you're in and around teams you get a couple of results, you jump up a few places and it gives you that confidence. "If we won three on the spin we'd still be bottom. We'd probably be in the best form of the year and still be bottom. "Games are running out and you miss chances like against Blackburn, it's frustrating."
