After becoming Derby County's record signing, Robert Earnshaw has told Sky Sports News he could not turn down another shot at the Premier League.

The Welsh international joined The Rams on 29th June for £3.5million and is hoping to establish himself, and his new club, in England's top tier.

Earnshaw's last game in the Premier League came in January 2006 for West Brom, before he was sold to Championship side Norwich after failing to establish himself at The Hawthorns.

His goalscoring exploits at Carrow Road convinced Derby boss Billy Davies to make him a part of Derby's attack for next season, and Earnshaw is now determined to prove he is capable of succeeding at the top level.

"I'm pleased that everything was done and dusted within a couple of days of knowing about it, that was good it didn't take long," Earnshaw told Sky Sports News.

"I'm excited about playing in the Premier League, you can't turn that down.

"I'm looking forward to it. The stuff he [Davies] has said to me has all been good so I am looking forward to working with him and hopefully I can become a better player playing under him. That's what I'm aiming for."
