Derby midfielder Nathan Doyle is set to stay on loan at Bradford until the end of the season.
Doyle suffered a knee injury in Bradford's Boxing Day defeat to Doncaster and it was initially feared that he could be sidelined for as long as three months.
Bradford boss Colin Todd accepted that Doyle would be heading back to Pride Park to recover, but news that his injury was not that serious has prompted an urgent review of the situation.
Scans have revealed that Doyle will in fact be fit to face Cheltenham on Saturday, and Todd is now likely to secure him for the rest of Bradford's League One campaign.
Doyle is only contracted to The Bantams until January but Todd has permission to extend the deal if he so chooses.
