Idiakez wins March honour

Inigo Idiakez, Freddy Eastwood and Tony Bedeau are Players of the Month for March.

Derby County midfielder Inigo Idiakez has claimed The Championship's Powerade Player of the Month award for March.

The Spanish playmaker's performances for The Rams last month have helped Terry Westley's side pull away from relegation trouble at a crucial stage of the season.

His match-winning brace against Crystal Palace has made him the club's leading goalscorer for the season.

Idiakez is joined by Southend United striker Freddy Eastwood, who wins the League One version of the award after scoring three times in four matches for The Shrimpers during the month of March.

His goals keep Steve Tilson's side at the summit of League One and on course for a second-straight promotion season.

Torquay United striker Tony Bedeau won the League Two honour for March after claiming two match-winning goals in three games for The Gulls.

Bedeau's goals boosted the South Devon club's hopes of avoiding relegation from The Football League at the season's end.
