Taylor considering Barbados call

Derby County captain Ian Taylor is considering an invitation to play international football for Barbados.

The 35-year-old revealed that he turned down a similar request from the Caribbean island nation five years ago because he hoped to make a breakthrough into the England set-up at the time.

However, the Concacaf country has returned to request the former Port Vale, Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa man's services ahead of their second round World Cup qualifying tie with St Kitts & Nevis this June.

Barbados can reach the semi-final group stages of the qualifying campaign if they overcome St Kitts & Nevis in their two-legged tie.
