The 26-year-old right back saw a summer move to Middlesbrough collapse and had looked set to get his chance to move to England with Derby.
However, despite The Rams being incredibly busy in the transfer market over recent weeks and Grenet is not to be the latest piece in Colin Todd's masterplan and will not be following Luciano Zavagno, Pierre Ducrocq and Benito Carbone into Pride Park.
Grenet was reportedly set to miss Bordeaux's Uefa Cup tie with Standard Liege on Thursday, to enable him to join up with The Rams for the rest of this week, but Todd has now played this down.
Bulgarian defender Predrag Pazhin and Austrian winger Michael Wagner have also been on trial with Derby over the last week, as Todd looks to deal in the transfer market with limited resources, despite raising £7 million from the sale of Seth Johnson.
Todd, did however, also confirm that he will not be pursuing his interest in Wagner.
