Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is confident they will secure Premier League survival if they replicate their Capital One Cup final performance against Manchester City.
The Black Cats threatened a shock when they took a 1-0 lead in Sunday's final against City through Fabio Borini, before Manuel Pellegrini's side replied through two wonder goals from Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas' late strike to secure the first piece of silverware of the season.
Sunderland now switch their attention to staying in the Premier League - with Poyet's men in the bottom three, one point from safety
Poyet was encouraged by Sunderland's showing at Wembley and is optimistic they will stay up if they can match what they did against City.
"If we do this every week, I'm sure we'll stay in the league," noted Poyet.
"I need to see who takes my words now and shows me they are okay after this because we are all different.
"Maybe playing in the FA Cup (versus Hull City) next week helps us, and then we have the (league) game against Crystal Palace which we must win, for sure."
