Liverpool forward Fabio Borini has been confirmed as a member of Italy's Under-21 squad for the European U21 Championship.
The Azzurini kick off their Group A campaign against Stuart Pearce's England U21s in Tel Aviv next Wednesday.
Azzurini coach Devis Mangia had to cut five players from his initial 28-man party, but Borini was one of those to make it in.
Cittadella defender Daniele Baselli, Pescara centre-back Simone Romagnoli, Roma left-back Paolo Frascatore, Bari striker Francesco Fedato and Hamburg's Jacopo Sala were the youngsters who miss out. Former Chelsea midfielder Sala had suffered an ankle injury.
Along with Borini, there are five other players with senior experience - PSG defensive midfielder Marco Verratti, attacking midfielders Alessandro Florenzi of Roma and Lorenzo Insigne of Napoli, Roma forward Mattia Destro and striker Manolo Gabbiadini who has spent the campaign on loan at Bologna from Juventus.
