Winger pleased to have committed himself to Sunderland

Sunderland winger James McClean was delighted with his performance against Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League on Saturday. McClean scored in the Black Cats' 3-1 victory over QPR at the Stadium of Light just a day after signing an improved deal until the end of the 2014/15 season. The 22-year-old was overjoyed to have capped off a good week with a wonderful goal and insists that he made the right decision in committing his long-term future to Sunderland.

Fully committed

"I'm over the moon and I have worked hard," McClean told Sunderland's official website. "It was great that the club offered me a new contract and I was delighted to sign it; I see my future here. "A lot of things have happened over the past few months but I am just enjoying my football. "Hopefully the next few months will have even better things in store.
Goals
"I got a bit lucky for the goal with the ball coming back to me," he added, explaining about his goal. "I had a chance before that too but scuffed it wide from a good position, so fortunately the next chance fell for me. "It took a deflection but I'm not going to complain. "That's five goals now - hopefully I can push on and get a few more before the end of the season."
