Sunderland winger James McClean was delighted with his performance against Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League on Saturday.
McClean scored in the Black Cats' 3-1 victory over QPR at the Stadium of Light just a day after signing an improved deal until the end of the 2014/15 season.
The 22-year-old was overjoyed to have capped off a good week with a wonderful goal and insists that he made the right decision in committing his long-term future to Sunderland.
"I'm over the moon and I have worked hard," McClean told Sunderland's official website.
"It was great that the club offered me a new contract and I was delighted to sign it; I see my future here.
"A lot of things have happened over the past few months but I am just enjoying my football.
"Hopefully the next few months will have even better things in store.
"I got a bit lucky for the goal with the ball coming back to me," he added, explaining about his goal.
"I had a chance before that too but scuffed it wide from a good position, so fortunately the next chance fell for me.
"It took a deflection but I'm not going to complain.
"That's five goals now - hopefully I can push on and get a few more before the end of the season."
