Sunderland's Wayne Bridge, on loan from Manchester City, admits he has been impressed by manager Martin O'Neill.
The left-back was only given one start under Roberto Mancini before O' Neill signed the former England international on deadline day in the January transfer window.
Bridge made his first start for his new club in Sunderland's impressive 1-0 win over Liverpool last weekend, and he is full of praise for his new manager.
He told
SAFC TV: "I just think the manager has been really positive with everyone. He likes to make everyone feel at home and doesn't worry about mistakes.
Fingers crossed
"He's just so positive and that rubs off on the lads. We go out there really up for it and no-one holds back."
The 31-year-old former Chelsea defender hopes to have an extended run in the team, but understands it will not be easy with his side in such good form.
He continued: "I've enjoyed all my time here; training's been good and I've managed to get that first full game now.
"The lads were playing so well that I knew it would be hard to get a game; Kieran (Richardson) got a little injury so I managed to get out there. Fingers crossed I can play more games."
Bridge added: "It's definitely been hard for me to get a game and for the manager to change his team. That's a credit to him and to all the lads."
