Nathan Dyer has defended his tackle on Jordi Gomez which will see the Swansea winger miss the next three Premier League games.
Dyer was sent off by referee Andre Marriner in the second half of the Swans' 2-0 victory at Wigan at the weekend for a fractionally late and high tackle on forward Jordi Gomez.
The wide player will now miss Sunday's home game against Manchester City, the trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on March 17 and the meeting at the Liberty Stadium with Everton seven days later.
The South Wales club opted not to appeal the ban as they feared it could be extended, but the 24-year-old has defended his challenge as he faces up to a month on the sidelines.
Not malicious
"I went for the ball - I'm certainly not a malicious player," he said.
"I asked the ref what it was for but he just told me to get off the pitch.
"There was minimal contact. It was a yellow card at best in my opinion - it was not worthy of a straight red.
"Everyone I have spoken to, including people outside of the club, feels the same way."
Ready
Dyer is expected to return to first-team action when Swansea go to Tottenham on April 1, and he insists he will be ready to finish the campaign on a personal high.
"It is really disappointing to miss out on the next three matches - they are massive games and I would love to have played a part in them," he added.
"It will be frustrating watching the games and not being able to do anything about it, but I know we have the quality to get good results.
"I will be raring to go when we visit White Hart Lane and I'll work as hard as possible to get back into the team."
