Keeper returns as Sunderland prepare to face Man Utd

Sunderland have recalled goalkeeper Trevor Carson from Bury ahead of this Saturday's clash against Manchester United following an injury crisis. The 23-year-old has returned to the Black Cats squad after Simon Mignolet suffered a serious facial trauma during the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last weekend. Meanwhile, Scottish international Craig Gordon remains sidelined with a knee injury and could only be risked in an emergency. Carson will be on standby at Old Trafford, with Keiren Westwood getting the nod as Steve Bruce looks to extend the club's unbeaten run to three games. Carson has conceded only nine goals in eight appearances for League One side Bury following previous loan spells with Chesterfield and Lincoln City.
